About This Role

Cohesity IT is looking for passionate, out-of-the-box thinkers who takes pride in building industry-leading VMware infrastructure to support critical business processes. This is a unique opportunity for you to contribute and build Service Provider level functionality in a multi-cloud, multi-data center hybrid infrastructure. You will be working closely with the IT Solution Architect, Information Security, DevOps, Senior VDI Engineer, and the data center networking team to drive strategic initiatives.

Our ideal candidate is highly autonomous, detail-oriented, possesses strong written, and verbal communication skills, has a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time, and possesses a strong background in system automation and integrations. The desire and ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Implement enterprise-grade VMware virtualization infrastructure that runs Service Provider level services for internal customers and partners.
  • Perform routine operations, such as monitoring, logging, system hardening, patching, performance tuning up, backup, and restore.
  • Maintain site reliability of enterprise-grade IT production infrastructure, define service SLAs and KPIs, produce standards and procedures for the incident response process, and automate whenever possible.
  • Execute the business continuity plan of virtualized infrastructure using Cohesity products and services. Define RTO/RPO targets, conduct quarterly testing, and improve over time.
  • Maintain current, high-level technical knowledge of the entire Cohesity product line and future product direction, and expert-level knowledge of the core Cohesity product line.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex system issues.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to support a 24x7 production environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience operating enterprise-scale IT/Engineering VMware infrastructure, primarily vSphere
  • Deep experience with VMware Virtualization technology and deployment.
  • Solid experience in enterprise server and storage technologies, preferably Cisco UCS, HPE, and PureStorage.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Server, Active Directory, and Linux fundamentals.
  • Proficient in at least one scripting language and VMware task automation. (Python, Shell, PowerShell, Perl)
  • Solid networking knowledge, ability to troubleshoot issues across the OSI stack
  • Demonstrated ability in using the data-driven methodology to troubleshoot diverse scope of problems.
  • Strong ability to work across teams, take direction, as well as be self-sustaining.
  • Owner mentality, with the ability to succeed in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
  • Able to occasionally work evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advance notice

Preferred Qualifications

  • VCAP and/or VCP Certifications
  • Knowledge of Artifactory, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible,‎ Docker, and Kubernetes containerization tools
