About the Role

This is where you come in. Below, you’ll find what this role is all about—the impact you’ll drive, the challenges you’ll tackle, and what it takes to thrive at Addi. If you’re ready to be part of something big, keep reading.

What’s the mission you’ll drive

Build a state-of-the-art, independent 2nd line credit risk function from scratch that surfaces the right risks at the right time and enables the transition to a fully regulated setup in Colombia. Keep credit activity within Board-approved risk appetite through strong 1st/2nd line partnership and constructive challenge.

What you will do

  • Establish Credit Risk Governance & Framework: Develop a comprehensive Credit Risk Management Framework approved by the Board, aligned with Addi's risk appetite, 3LoD model, and future applicable regulatory requirements of Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia

  • Regulatory Transition with Fit-for-Purpose 1st and 2nd Line Delineation: Develop a 1st and 2nd line operating model that builds upon the strength and success of Addis existing lending business. Enable a successful transition from unregulated to regulated credit operations by being a trusted change partner to the 1st line, and building out a lean and targeted 2nd line function.

  • Define & Maintain Credit Risk Appetite: Establish quantitative and qualitative credit-risk appetite statements with measurable metrics (risk appetite framework under SFC regulation, risk capital budgets, portfolio risk economics, early warning thresholds, concentration limits, stress loss sensitivity, etc.). Monitor and report portfolio position against appetite monthly to CRO, Risk Committee and Board.

  • Independently Assess & Challenge Credit Decisions: Conduct periodic independent reviews of underwriting policies, credit models, portfolio strategies, and new initiatives. Deliver formal challenge reports to CRO and governance bodies ensuring alignment with risk appetite.

  • Establish Independent Model Governance & Validation: Build model risk management framework covering all credit related decision models. Define appropriate 1st and 2nd line delineation in alignment with key stakeholders. Implement validation, back-testing, and performance monitoring aligned with applicable regulatory expectations on segregation of duties.

  • Strengthen Portfolio Stress Testing & Scenario Analysis: Design and execute stress testing programs assessing portfolio resilience under adverse conditions. Translate results into actionable insights for capital planning and provisioning, meeting applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Establish Independent Provisioning Oversight & Validation: Develop and maintain independent 2nd-line oversight of credit loss provisioning methodologies under both IFRS 9 and Colombian regulatory standards

  • Govern Credit Risk Data Quality & Reporting: Establish data governance standards ensuring accuracy and timeliness of portfolio data. Define critical data elements, reconciliation processes, and independently validate data integrity from origination through collections.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven Experience in Establishing and Maturing Credit Risk Governance

    • Has 10+ years of progressive experience in credit risk across the full lifecycle (origination, portfolio, collections), with a minimum of 5 years in a 2nd Line risk oversight or governance role in a regulated context.

    • Track record of establishing or significantly transforming comprehensive credit risk governance programs (including frameworks, policies, and charters) in high-growth environments.

    • Demonstrates the ability to translate operational credit risk knowledge into effective independent 2nd-line challenge, validation, and risk-assurance practices.

  • Possesses Strong Expertise in Risk Appetite Definition

    • Experienced in defining, monitoring, and reporting qualitative and quantitative credit risk appetite statements

    • Skilled in ensuring measurable alignment between quantitative metrics and the Board-approved Risk Appetite Framework and relevant regulatory expectations.

    • Able to communicate fluently in English, a requirement for high-level reporting and international coordination.

  • Has Solid Expertise in Colombian Regulatory Alignment, incl. Loan Loss Provisioning

    • Strong understanding of Colombian financial regulations (e.g., Circular Básica Contable y Financiera from Superfinanciera) or a proven ability to learn them quickly and apply them immediately to the framework.

    • Experienced in designing and maintaining credit risk control frameworks that achieve auditable compliance with these regulatory standards.

    • Experienced in defining provisioning policy and guardrails under IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss framework. Conducts ongoing independent validation of staging logic, parameter calibration, and scenario assumptions.

    • Strong understanding of Colombian provisioning requirements, or ability to learn fast. Defines 2nd-line standards for risk classification and provision calculations, independently validates 1st-line execution, and ensures dual reporting reconciliation between international and local regulatory frameworks.

  • Demonstrates Ability to Independently Assess, Challenge, and Validate Credit Models

    • Experienced in performing independent validation of all relevant credit decision models, defining appropriate 1st and 2nd line delineation.

    • Capable of conducting rigorous back-testing, performance monitoring, and stability analysis to identify model drift, data quality issues, and calibration weaknesses.

    • Adept at challenging underwriting policy changes, new product launches, and credit strategy shifts, translating complex metrics into clear, data-driven recommendations for the CRO and Governance bodies.

  • Track Record of Proficiency in Portfolio Monitoring and Stress Testing

    • Deep understanding of portfolio segmentation, cohort analysis, vintage performance tracking, and early warning indicator (EWI) frameworks, with the ability to independently assess their adequacy.

    • Skilled in designing and executing credit stress testing programs (macroeconomic shocks, concentration risk) and translating results into actionable insights for capital adequacy assessments and provisioning recommendations.

    • Experienced in independently assessing the effectiveness of collections strategies, recovery rates, and write-off policies through performance analytics and benchmarking.

  • Experienced in Driving a Risk-Aware and Sustainable Credit Culture

    • Advocates for "sustainable-by-design" credit principles, successfully balancing growth ambitions with prudent risk-taking across product, underwriting, and collections functions.

    • Leverages first-line empathy and operational credibility to influence and embed accountability for credit risk ownership throughout the business without direct authority.

    • Champions continuous improvement, integrating lessons learned (e.g., vintage post-mortems, model back-testing results) into governance, policy, and credit training programs to mature the organization
