Cohesity is seeking an outstanding lawyer with 5+ years’ legal experience to join our legal team sitting in the UK or Ireland. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about technology and self-directed learning, enjoys being challenged, and uses sound judgement in ambiguity. This position will support our rapidly growing sales team globally and, as such, requires flexibility to support time zones across the globe.

This lawyer’s responsibilities will include partnering effectively with sales, deal management, sales operations, finance, and our technical teams. The successful candidate will also handle general contract and corporate matters as necessary and will work closely with other lawyers in the Cohesity legal team, including the Chief Legal Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate and draft a high volume of complex technology sales and partnering transactions and various other commercial contracts, including confidentiality agreements, license agreements, data processing agreements, professional services agreements, assignments and amendments.
  • Develop and implement legal efficiencies to support sales, channel and business development teams and improve our contract processes and operations.
  • Improve and create contract templates and negotiation playbooks and provide internal training to sales, sales operations and legal operations.
  • Work closely with sales leadership, deal management and company leaders on strategic initiatives supporting all business verticals and customer-facing transactions.
  • Provide proactive strategic advice regarding business and legal issues and risks.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of law firm and/or in-house legal work experience, preferably focused on technology transactions.
  • Law degree from a recognized university and license to practice in the United States, United Kingdom and/or an EU member state. Exceptional candidates without a license to practice in one of these jurisdictions will also be considered.
  • Specific experience in a SaaS, cloud computing, enterprise software and data privacy is highly valued but not essential.
  • Adept at interacting effectively in a highly customer satisfaction-focused environment.
  • Adept at partnering with sales colleagues in fast-paced customer-facing transactions, demonstrated competencies as a critical thinker and proactive problem solver, with a willingness to roll up their sleeves to get into the details and drive creative solutions.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple transactions and projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.
  • Demonstrated exceptional judgment and integrity with the ability to think strategically and give practical advice appropriately, weighing legal and business objectives.

In-Office Expectations

Cohesity employees who are within a reasonable commute (e.g. within a forty-five (45) minute average travel time) work out of our core offices 2-3 days a week of their choosing.
