The Vice President of Security Advocacy, will be responsible for shaping and executing the company’s security positioning while championing cybersecurity best practices, creating awareness, and advocating for cyber resiliency within an enterprise. This role requires a dynamic thought leader who can bridge the gap between business strategy and security technology, influencing internal and external stakeholders to drive growth, innovation, and resilience in an increasingly digital world. This role entails communicating the value of data security, demonstrating the Cohesity advantages, and educating others about threats and solutions globally, reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer.
HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE
Serve as the company’s chief advocate for security awareness, engaging with customers, partners, and industry leaders to promote security best practices and thought leadership.
Educate internal and external audiences about cyber security risks, vulnerabilities, and best practices.
Clearly explain the importance of data security and resilience to both technical and non-technical audiences. This involves both writing blogs, presentations, and frequent public speaking.
Connect with other security professionals to share knowledge, best practices, and insights.
Establish trust and credibility within the industry and with clients.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, sales and marketing, to embed security into business initiatives and product development.
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and forums to enhance brand reputation and establish Cohesity as a thought leader in security and corporate strategy.
Lead a high-performing team, fostering innovation, professional development, and cross-departmental collaboration.
Influence corporate communications related to security initiatives, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Establish partnerships with external organizations, government agencies, and security communities to enhance the company’s position in the industry.
Develop and implement programs that drive cultural change around security awareness both internally and externally.
WE’D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING
Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
16+ years of experience in security evangelism, cybersecurity, or related fields.
Deep understanding of cybersecurity trends, threats, and regulatory environments, with the ability to translate complex security concepts into actionable business insights.
Point of view on security trends, threats and industry solutions.
Exceptional public speaking and communication skills, with experience engaging executive audiences, media, and industry thought leaders.
Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams, fostering innovation and collaboration.
Strong network within the security, technology, and business communities.
Disclosure Pursuant to Applicable State Equal Pay Transparency Laws - This position has a starting pay range as listed below. Actual salary depends upon many factors, including a candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience, location, and salary expectations, and therefore a starting salary at the low end, high end, or even above the stated range may be offered. This position may also be eligible for bonus compensation, commission (if in a sales function), and/or equity grants. Cohesity employees who are within a reasonable commute (e.g. within a forty-five (45) minute average travel time) work out of our core offices 2-3 days a week of their choosing.
