We’re looking for a Senior Benefits Analyst to lead key U.S. benefits and compliance activities. In this role, you’ll be the go-to expert on 401(k), life insurance, disability and leave programs (including California VDI), time off programs, and voluntary benefits.
You’ll also provide system administration and support with our outsourced Benefits Administration solution (including COBRA and FSA) while owning critical documentation and compliance deliverables like Form 5500, SPDs, and other ERISA requirements.
Collaborating with HR, Legal, Payroll, and external vendors to drive accuracy, compliance, and a high-impact employee experience within a fast-paced, high-growth tech environment will be required.
HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE:
Administer and ensure compliance for U.S. benefit programs:
401(k)
Life and AD&D insurance
Short- and Long-Term Disability
Leave of Absence administration in partnership with outsourced leave administration vendor (FMLA, CA VDI, other state leaves)
Time Off programs
Voluntary benefits
Benefits administration services (including COBRA & FSA administration)
Manage benefit workflows and data integrity within Workday and BenefitSolver, including eligibility, enrollments, terminations, leave status changes, and system audits.
Manage and optimize relationships with benefit carriers, vendors, and brokers.
Serve as a key liaison to external benefits administration partners; escalate and resolve issues effectively.
Lead and support compliance reporting and documentation, including:
Preparation and review of Form 5500 filings
Creation and maintenance of Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs) and Summary of Material Modifications (SMMs)
Coordination of non-discrimination testing, ACA reporting, and other ERISA/HIPAA compliance needs
Draft and maintain internal benefits policy documents and ensure alignment with regulatory and plan updates.
Plan and develop effective employee communications for benefit programs and updates.
Create and maintain clear, employee-friendly knowledge base articles and intranet content to support self-service and transparency.
Monitor regulatory developments and work cross-functionally to implement updates as needed.
Contribute to annual Open Enrollment strategy and execution, including system readiness, communications, and employee education.
Analyze benefits trends, conduct audits, and recommend optimizations for cost control and improved employee experience.
WE’D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
8+ years of U.S. benefits experience with a strong focus on compliance, vendor management, and systems integration—ideally in a high-growth tech or multi-state environment
In-depth knowledge of 401(k), ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, and state-specific leave programs
Experience supporting the preparation of Forms 5500 and developing SPDs and compliance documentation
Proficiency with Workday and third-party benefits platforms (e.g., BenefitSolver)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn regulatory detail into actionable plans
Clear, concise communication skills—both for policy writing and employee support Comfort working in a fast-paced, agile environment with evolving priorities
Disclosure Pursuant to Applicable State Equal Pay Transparency Laws - This position has a starting pay range as listed below. Actual salary depends upon many factors, including a candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience, location, and salary expectations, and therefore a starting salary at the low end, high end, or even above the stated range may be offered. This position may also be eligible for bonus compensation, commission (if in a sales function), and/or equity grants. Additionally, full-time employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits framework, including health and wellness benefits, vacation, paid holidays and refresh days, 401(k) retirement plan, life and disability insurance coverages, and other benefits the Company may offer from time to time.
Pay Range :
The compensation noted above is based on an annualized hourly rate assuming normal full-time employment.

Cohesity employees who are within a reasonable commute (e.g. within a forty-five (45) minute average travel time) work out of our core offices 2-3 days a week of their choosing.
