As part of the Professional Services team, you will work closely with clients to design, deploy, and optimize backup and recovery solutions that align with their business goals. This client-facing role combines technical proficiency with exceptional communication and project management skills.
The role will be based in Tokyo, Japan, and will be part of a Global team, that could also require delivering projects and engagement for other regions/countries.
HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE:
Client Engagement and Solution Design:
Collaborate with clients to understand business needs, objectives, and technical requirements.
Design and propose tailored backup and recovery solutions leveraging NetBackup, NetBackup Appliances, and Flex Appliances.
Conduct technical workshops and presentations to demonstrate solution value.
Implementation and Deployment:
Lead the deployment, configuration, and optimisation of NetBackup environments for clients.
Perform system integrations with Windows, Linux, VMware, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, and compliance standards.
Technical Troubleshooting and Optimization:
Serve as the escalation point for advanced technical challenges during and post-deployment.
Analyse and resolve complex issues in backup environments.
Proactively identify opportunities to optimize client environments for reliability and efficiency.
Professional Services Delivery:
Provide professional and timely technical support and consultation to clients.
Deliver detailed project documentation, including architecture designs, configuration guides, and operational best practices.
Ensure project milestones are met within scope, timeline, and budget.
Optional – Container-Based Solutions:
Assist in designing and deploying backup strategies for containerized environments, such as Kubernetes or Docker.
Collaborate with clients exploring modernized infrastructure solutions.
Technical Leadership and Collaboration:
Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to align on project goals and deliverables.
Train and mentor client teams to ensure smooth handover and knowledge transfer.
Flexibility to travel outside of the region if required
WE’D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
Extensive hands-on experience with NetBackup, NetBackup Appliances, and Flex Appliances in professional services or client-facing roles.
Demonstrated expertise in Windows and Linux administration.
Proven track record working with VMware and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Exceptional client communication and relationship-building skills.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to resolve complex technical issues.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
Solid understanding of data protection, disaster recovery, and backup best practices.
Knowledge of container-based technologies such as Kubernetes or Docker.
Relevant certifications (e.g., NetBackup, VMware, AWS, Azure).
Previous experience in a Professional Services or consulting role is highly desirable.
Proficiency in Japanese and English
