The Planning Manager is responsible for leading the global spare parts planning function, ensuring alignment with company-wide service objectives and operational excellence. This role establishes operational goals, develops work plans, and delegates assignments to a team of planners and analysts. The manager plays a key role in shaping and executing strategic policies, driving performance improvements, and ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs), budgets, and schedules.

This position requires deep analytical capabilities, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders. The Planning Manager will lead supplier-facing meetings, report on KPIs and SLA metrics, and coordinate action plans to improve service performance and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish operational objectives and work plans for the global spare parts planning team.
  • Delegate assignments and oversee execution through subordinate managers or team leads.
  • Develop, modify, and execute company policies affecting immediate operations and broader organizational impact.
  • Implement strategic policies and select methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to achieve results.
  • Ensure adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.
  • Lead supplier and internal meetings focused on KPI and SLA performance, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze complex issues requiring in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives and service logistics.
  • Interact with senior management and executive leadership on matters impacting multiple functional areas and customer segments.
  • Contribute to the development of departmental and company-wide objectives.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Experience working across departments and geographies to deliver cohesive planning strategies.
  • Technical & Analytical Skills – Proficiency in planning tools, CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), and advanced Excel; strong attention to detail.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 8 years with a Master’s degree, or 5 years with a PhD, or equivalent experience in supply chain, logistics, or service operations.
  • Experience managing teams and/or departments with full supervision over costs, staffing, and methods.
  • Proven track record in spare parts planning, service logistics, or related supply chain functions.
  • Strong understanding of KPIs, SLA metrics, and supplier performance management.
  • Familiarity with CRM and ERP systems (e.g., Salesforce, SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support decision making.
