SENIOR CONSUMER COMPLIANCE ANALYST

Current is a leading U.S. fintech serving people who have been overlooked by traditional banks with nearly 4 million members. Headquartered in NYC, our results-driven environment enables us to build better products, grow faster and empower everyone on our team to have an impact on our business and our mission to improve financial outcomes for our members.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Senior Consumer Compliance Analyst to join our growing team. You will be a generalist and individual contributor, reporting directly to our Director of Consumer Compliance. Your responsibilities will extend across various Consumer Compliance work streams as needed, with an immediate focus on the regulatory complaints response process and related reporting. You may also have the opportunity to contribute to managing compliance issues, audits, third party compliance risk, compliance marketing reviews, and special consumer compliance projects as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Our Consumer Compliance team promotes Current’s adherence to consumer protection laws, regulations, rules, and standards when interacting with the public and our customers. As a consumer compliance generalist, you may contribute to this important work in many ways.

  • Regulatory Complaint Response: Analyze communications of dissatisfaction from our customers to identify potential regulatory risk; research individual cases; carefully and efficiently draft detailed and accurate formal written responses to customers, bank partners, and regulators; work in collaboration with other team members to escalate issues and create actionable reporting
  • Other Consumer Compliance Programs:
    • Compliance issue management - When Current identifies a break in our compliance controls, we document and research it, remediate any customer harm, and prevent recurrence.
    • Audit management - Current’s bank partners perform formal compliance audits that require us to provide documents and information on very short timelines.
    • Third party compliance risk management - When Current retains a vendor, responsibility for their compliance remains with us, so we perform due diligence and exercise ongoing oversight
    • Compliance marketing review - Before Current publishes any marketing materials, Compliance confirms they adhere to UDAAP and other standards
  • Special Projects: Current Compliance moves fast, and our risks and priorities are constantly in flux as our business evolves. That means everyone on our team is regularly asked to pitch in and take on additional projects that may be a departure from prior day-to-day responsibilities.
