At Docket, we are building a high-performance company where talent quality, culture, and execution speed matter deeply. As we scale, we are looking for a People Manager who will act as a true partner to the founders—owning the people function end-to-end and shaping how the company grows.
This is a builder role, not a maintenance role. You will set the bar for culture, performance, and employee experience while building people processes from the ground up.
What You’ll Do
Build Culture & Employee Engagement
Own employee engagement across the company with a strong focus on trust, transparency, and performance
Be deeply embedded in the organization and accessible to employees at all levels
Act as a trusted, neutral, and respected point of contact for people-related matters
Proactively identify cultural or engagement risks and address them early
Own People Operations (End-to-End)
Manage the full employee lifecycle: onboarding, documentation, payroll coordination, leave management, and exits
Ensure compliance with Indian labor laws and statutory requirements (PF, ESI, gratuity, POSH, etc.)
Maintain clear, well-documented HR systems and records
Manage vendors related to payroll, insurance, and HR tools
Build People Processes From Scratch
Design And Implement Core People Processes Including
Performance reviews and feedback cycles
Core HR policies and employee handbook
Manager enablement and employee growth frameworks
Continuously refine processes to support scale while maintaining clarity and fairness
Enable Hiring & Scaling (Especially Engineering)
Partner closely with founders and hiring managers to plan and scale teams
Support high-quality, high-velocity hiring as the company doubles in size
Ensure strong onboarding and early employee experience to help new hires ramp quickly
Enable High Performance
Support managers in setting clear expectations and performance standards
Help drive honest, respectful feedback and performance conversations
Reinforce a culture that values accountability, ownership, and excellence
What We’re Looking For
4–8 years of experience in HR / People Operations, ideally in high-growth or startup environments
Experience acting as a sole HR / People owner or building HR functions from scratch
Strong working knowledge of Indian employment laws and compliance
High emotional intelligence, strong judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive situations with maturity
Comfortable working directly with founders and senior leaders
What Sets You Apart
Employees trust you, respect you, and listen to you
You combine empathy with decisiveness
You are practical, grounded, and people-first without being soft on standards
You value individuals as individuals—without labels, bias, or shortcuts
You operate with low ego and high ownership
What This Role Is Not
A policy-only or documentation-heavy HR role
A role for someone who needs mature systems to operate
A role for someone uncomfortable with conflict or accountability
A role for high-ego HR professionals
Why Join Docket
Opportunity to build and own the people function at a critical growth stage
Direct, trusted partnership with the founders
Ability to shape culture and performance standards for the long term
A high-bar environment with real ownership and impact
