Reporting to the Sr. People Business Partner, the People Generalist will play an integral role in the day to day support across all vertices of the People Team and our customer base, striving to live our core values, drive efficiency, and help shape company culture. In this fast-paced environment this individual will need to be adaptable to change and demonstrate flexibility in handling various HR tasks, be quick to action, with a sense of urgency to evolving priorities.


  • Advise and administer People Team Programs, leveraging HR knowledge and expertise to interpret, recommend, and maintain HR best practices
  • Lead with data, generating reports and synthesizing data that provide valuable HR insights
  • Assist with People Team initiatives and solutions to advance organizational objectives
  • Support the performance management cycle, including launching and closing each cycle, maintaining the platform, and providing insights throughout
  • Champion our various employee engagement initiatives including our quarterly pulse surveys, Employee Resource Groups, Flock Chats et.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies within human resources and employment law
  • Partner with our People Development Partner and Talent Partners on ongoing recruiting, sourcing, training and facilitation of our Flockers
  • Serves as the backup for HR administration including leaves of absences, verifications of employment, personnel change processing, onboarding etc.
  • Be a team player! You will be contributing to other initiatives across the people team and company as needed

  • At least 3+ years of experience within HR
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and third-party vendors.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Intermediate/Advanced working knowledge in Excel/Google Sheets
  • A sense of humor and a positive attitude!
  • Experience with UKG, Greenhouse, Culture Amp desirable

The expected on-target earnings range for this position is $70,000 - $85,000 per year. This range reflects typical earning potential in this role. When determining an offer, we take into account a variety of factors that are important in making compensation decisions including, but not limited, to: skill sets; experience and tenure; education and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate is based on market data for the greater San Diego area. Salary bands may, in some circumstances, be adjusted to a different geographic area depending on the candidate's position and location.

In addition to salary, full-time employees are also eligible for an equity package and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Flock Freight. Our policy is that we target candidates local to one of Flock Freight’s headquarters locations (San Diego and Chicago) and ask that employees work in-office.
