The Senior Inventory Accounting Manager oversees the general workflow and productivity of the inventory process, working closely with procurement, operations, and warehouse teams. The ideal candidate will have expertise in identifying and implementing inventory process improvements and efficiencies. The Inventory Manager is responsible for measuring, analyzing and reporting inventory activities including reconciliations, variance reporting, data collection and processes for inventory security and integrity.

What You’ll Do
  • Maintain integrity of inventory records, establish procedures, and analyze complex historical transactions to identify and reconcile discrepancies
  • Provide detailed root cause analysis for variances and maintain inventory KPI’s and metrics
  • Build new and enhance existing processes to improve accuracy and efficiency in monthly close
  • Work closely with management from procurement, operations and warehouse teams on matters relating to purchase order creation, receiving and shipping
  • Review monthly account journal entries and reconciliations for finished goods, in-transit inventory, freight and duty asset accruals
  • Conduct monthly general ledger account analysis to identify trend variances or potential misstatements
  • Comply with company identified key SOX controls and maintain the required levels of documentation and review support
  • Oversee the entire Inventory team, with direct management of the Inventory Supervisor
  • Maintain integrity of tooling and mold inventory and conduct ROI analysis
  • Maintain inventory aging’s and reconcile prepaid inventory
  • Implement procedural and policy changes to improve departmental efficiency
  • Create and maintain process documents for various duties as assigned
  • Perform any general or ad-hoc inventory related activities upon request of the Controller or Assistant Controller
  • Work with external auditors on a quarterly and yearly basis regarding all aspects of Inventory and related costs

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related is required
  • 7+ years Inventory Accounting experience, preferably in a consumer goods industry
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with demonstrated ability to anticipate next steps, take initiative, exercise discretion, and apply sound judgement
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of executive leadership and staff
  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative problem-solving skills. Able to discern alternatives and make objective recommendations
  • Proficient organizational and time management skills to independently prioritize multiple tasks and bring projects to completion in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced project management ability. Able to act as primary owner of individual projects, build analysis and process while working cross functionally outside immediate work group with decision making authority.
  • Prior experience with a publicly traded company is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel in particular)
  • Microsoft NAV experience preferred
Salary Information
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $121,500 - $151,000. ​Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
