But what does Funko do?

Funko’s Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) business continues to expand across eCommerce, Retail, and Events. As Funko continues to grow globally, securing and optimizing our payments process becomes increasingly critical — balancing acceptance, conversion, and fraud control.

The Senior Manager of Global Payments & Risk will build and lead Funko’s global payments strategy. Including but not limited to improving payment success rates, reducing chargebacks, and enhancing compliance positioning with Visa, Mastercard, and key PSP partners.

This position will own the end-to-end payments and risk framework, driving measurable improvement in payment performance while reducing fraud losses annually.

  • Partner with Adyen and other PSPs to leverage advanced data insights, ML risk tools, and global routing capabilities
  • Analyze and reduce transaction costs, interchange fees, and PSP margin leakage
  • Lead strategy for global payment method expansion
  • Lead global fraud prevention strategy, including machine learning, 2FA, velocity checks, and manual reviews
  • Manage Visa and Mastercard monitoring programs and ensure timely remediation to exit fines and compliance risk
  • Partner with Digital, Customer Service, and Engineering teams to harden systems against account takeovers and bot attacks
  • Implement performance metrics for fraud tools and processes to ensure friction-right customer experience
  • Establish a unified Payments & Risk dashboard covering authorization, fraud rates, chargebacks, and PSP costs
  • Develop monthly reporting cadence to Finance and DTC leadership, quantifying financial recovery and ROI
  • Build internal business cases for payment innovations, tool enhancements, or vendor transitions
  • Negotiate and govern vendor contracts for PSPs, chargeback management, and fraud platforms
  • Manage and grow a lean but high-impact team (Fraud Specialist + Payments Analyst)
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Customer Experience, and Regional eCommerce leads to align goals
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert for all matters related to payments, fraud, and compliance globally
What You’ll Bring
  • 8–10 years’ experience in Payments, Fraud, or Risk roles within eCommerce, Retail, or FinTech environments
  • Demonstrable success improving payment acceptance and reducing fraud/chargebacks at scale
  • Strong familiarity with PSPs (Adyen, Stripe, Braintree, etc.), card network regulations, and risk tooling
  • Experience leading Visa/Mastercard monitoring program remediation
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen — able to link data to business impact
