🚀 Title & Escrow Operations Manager — Clever Closings

📍 Remote (US — must reside in TX, FL, CA, GA, AZ, MI, NC, or SC)

💰 $80k–$90k base · $105k–$125k OTE

Clever Closings is our title and escrow arm, closing residential transactions across multiple states.

The Role We're hiring a Title & Escrow Operations Manager to lead a team of 6–10 closers, escrow officers, and processors who carry our files from contract to disbursement. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Operations, you'll partner across Operations, Compliance, and Product to scale our title and escrow business with speed, accuracy, and audit-ready quality.

This is hands-on leadership. The most important thing you'll do is connect with the team in a real way — knowing their names, strengths, and what's getting in their way. You'll coach individually, run the cadence, monitor live pipeline health, and be the senior escalation point when underwriters push back or compliance questions arise.

What You'll Do

  • Directly manage and develop a team of 6–10 — hiring, onboarding, coaching, 1:1s, and reviews
  • Own team KPIs (cycle time, on-time-to-close, fall-through rate, CSAT) and report to leadership
  • Monitor pipeline health, balance workload, and serve as senior escalation point
  • Ensure all files meet Federal and state compliance (RESPA, TRID, CFPB, BSA/AML, escrow trust accounting) and ALTA Best Practices
  • Audit files, fix root causes, and turn escalation patterns into permanent process improvements
  • Partner with Agent Network, Customer Success, and Product to keep handoffs clean

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years in title, escrow, settlement, or closing (residential resale), with 2+ years managing a team
  • Hands-on across the full closing lifecycle — title through disbursement
  • Strong knowledge of Federal and multi-state compliance (RESPA, TRID, CFPB, BSA/AML)
  • Proficient in Qualia
  • A trusted, steady leader and clear communicator who thrives in a fast-moving, remote, multi-state environment

Bonus: Active title/escrow license (FL, TX, or others) · multi-state experience · ALTA Best Practices certification · experience launching a new market or scaling during growth
