Loft Orbital is hiring an Embedded Security Engineer work with our Loft Flight Systems team to design and deploy embedded security following industry best practices and zero-trust guidelines. You will conduct security audits, perform penetration testing, and resolve vulnerabilities in software and firmware stacks. Additionally, you will establish security measures like secure boot, authentication, and key management.

About This Role:
- Work with the Loft Flight Systems team to architect and implement the embedded security architecture following industry best practices and zero-trust guidelines
- Perform security audits and penetration testing of existing embedded SW and FW stacks, working with the development teams to identify and resolve vulnerabilities
- Decompose customer/system security requirements down to the embedded systems
- Implement security primitives as required such as secure boot, certificate chains, authentication, key provisioning/management, etc.
Must Haves:
- 5+ years experience with security architecture design, cryptography, zero-trust implementations, bonus if in aviation or aerospace
- BS in software engineering, computer science, or information security with demonstrated software engineering experience
- Deep expertise in embedded Linux, bootloaders, and network stacks
- Excellent communication skills, written and spoken
- Strong software development ability in C and C++ for ARM and x86

Powered by our hardware & software products, we operate satellites, fly customer payloads onboard, and handle entire missions from end to end - significantly reducing the lead-time and risk of a traditional space mission.
