About the Role
We are looking for a Director of People Operations to lead our US People team from Loft’s SF Headquarters! Over the past two years, we've rapidly grown our team to keep up with customer demand. In this role, you’ll partner with Loft’s people managers to support learning, growth and development initiatives, and creating experiences and programs that enable and inspire our teams to do their best work. What You'll Do:

  • Work closely with the VP People & EU Director of People Ops to refine and execute on our Loft People Strategy, with a focus on continuous iteration and improvement of our most important products: our company and our employee experience
  • Serve as a partner and coach to Loft’s leaders and managers in the US, focused on navigating strategic and complex People questions, including organizational design, scaling, retention strategies, leadership development, manager effectiveness, compensation, performance, engagement and culture transformation
  • Guide and coach leaders and managers, through programs & 1:1’s, in the leadership and organization of their teams (talent identification/retention, performance success, training, organizational design, leadership development)
  • Drive education and efforts on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) at a local and global level
  • Partner closely with other functions, including Recruiting, People Operations and Finance to design, pilot and scale high impact and innovative People programs (e.g. performance and talent management, compensation planning)
  • Educate, mentor and coach People team members where your expertise is needed
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on the legal & People implications of leadership and other company decisions

There is a good chance you’ll love this job if:

  • You have extensive experience delivering business partner support and services for Engineering teams, ideally on a fast-paced international team
  • You have deep functional expertise in talent management, employee relations, process and program development, organizational development, total rewards, training and coaching
  • You're a relationship builder and people connector who is passionate about the growth and development of people
  • You’re comfortable with ambiguity and can build systems, programs, processes from scratch
  • You're self-motivated and effective at managing up; you know how to present information to get the answers you need as efficiently as possible
  • You're experienced in developing or contributing to DEI strategy and driving initiatives to effect real change
  • You're comfortable solving problems and delivering projects autonomously as part of an agile, small People team
  • You're a strong communicator and active listener who isn't afraid to say what you think

Who We Are
Loft Orbital builds “shareable” satellites, providing a fast & simple path to orbit for organizations that require access to space. Powered by our hardware & software products, we operate satellites, fly customer payloads onboard, and handle entire missions from end to end - significantly reducing the lead-time and risk of a traditional space mission.
Our standard interface enables us to fly multiple customer payloads on the same satellite, with capabilities such as earth imagery, weather & climate /science data collection, IoT connectivity, in-orbit demonstrations, and national security missions. Our customers trust us to manage their space infrastructure, so they can focus on what matters most to them: operating their mission and collecting their data.
