Overview

The mission of the Chargeback Management team is to arbitrate customer disputes and compromise events, using innovative processes, data analytics, and business intelligence, thereby fostering balance and integrity in the payments ecosystem. As part of Rappi's Payments & Fraud business unit, Chargeback Management performs the following chargeback-related responsibilities- Handles customer inquiries and settles disputes relating to chargebacks, reviews and decides on arbitration and compliance cases, serves in a consultative capacity to internal and external audiences, and manages and evolves Rappi chargeback recovery strategies.

As part of Rappi, you will be responsible for:

Main Responsibilities

  • The core responsibility of this role will be to act as the regional specialist within the Chargeback Management team and to establish strategies and processes to provide a quality customer experience.

  • As a secondary responsibility of this role the candidate will review and rule complex chargeback arbitration and compliance cases specific to cardholder disputes, fraud, point of interaction errors, authorization, and questionable merchant activity.

  • Assist with customer inquiries and provide accurate information to customers and internal partners.

  • Ensure internal processes are maintained to meet service and quality standards.

  • Assist with departmental process improvements.

Job Specific Experiences Required

Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • Experience and knowledge in chargebacks, dispute management, fraud, transaction processing and/or compliance-related investigations are preferred.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (Excel, SQL, etc.) to analyze transaction patterns and identify fraudulent activities.

  • Understanding of the legal and regulatory framework surrounding chargebacks and dispute resolution.

  • Awareness of current trends in fraud, cybersecurity threats, and countermeasures.

  • Language: Spanish and Portuguese or English preferred.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively assess chargeback claims and dispute cases.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to deal with customers, banks, and payment processors.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure, manage tight deadlines, and handle multiple cases simultaneously.

  • Integrity and a strong ethical stance, given the sensitive nature of the work involving financial transactions and personal data.

  • Proactive attitude; willing to research and work towards identifying and addressing potential fraud risks.

  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
