Description

Build the AI platform that some of the world's largest banks and fintechs trust to stay compliant — at scale, in production, every day.

Sedric Labs processes millions of interactions and terabytes of marketing assets daily, running AI rules against hundreds of customer-defined compliance policies in real time. The engineer who built this foundation is moving on after five great years. We're looking for the person who takes it to the next level.

Our agentic AI automates oversight across customer communications and marketing — real-time guardrails on calls, pre-approval review on every marketing asset, and post-publication monitoring across partners and channels. Because every customer gets a dedicated compliance model, accuracy goes up, false positives go down, and compliance teams move faster without taking on more risk.

Why is this role a rare opportunity? You won't just be building for scale — you'll be engineering an enterprise-grade AI platform trusted by some of the largest banks and fintechs in the world. That means building guardrails, change management processes, and procedures alongside SMEs whose standards are set by global financial regulators. 99% accuracy isn't a stretch goal. It's the bar. And you'll use the most advanced AI tooling available to get there — at low cost, high throughput, in production.

This position reports to the Head of R&D.

What You’ll Do

You will own the E2E AI platform across all Sedric product lines — customer-facing policy configuration, internal tooling, and the architectural decisions that determine whether we scale reliably or expensively. Your responsibilities include:

  • Lead the AI engineering team — own output, growth, and retention
  • Build and evolve agentic systems that make high-stakes compliance decisions at scale: 99% accuracy, low cost, high throughput
  • Set guardrails, change management practices, and engineering procedures that meet the expectations of tier-1 financial institutions
  • Drive the self-hosted LLM roadmap and cost reduction strategy across product lines
  • Own customer-facing policy workflows and internal tooling for TAM and Data Ops
  • Partner with the Head of R&D on technical direction and hiring

Requirements

You’re a fit if you…

  • Have 4+ years leading engineers — you know the difference between managing and leading
  • Have 4+ years hands-on engineering and you still write code
  • Have sipped high-scale, low-latency production systems and own the tradeoffs
  • Are a data pipeline native — you think in flows, volumes, and efficiency
  • Have built cloud-native systems in production, not just on paper
  • Hold a CS or Computer Engineering degree
  • You are energized by the startup pace
  • You adapt to changes quickly and know how to create clarity out of ambiguity

You’re probably not a fit if…

  • You've never worked at a SaaS startup — the ownership model here will feel disorienting
  • Your cloud experience is theoretical — this role requires someone who has operated cloud-native systems in production
  • You don’t feel comfortable giving feedback and raising the standards in your team
  • You see development as disconnected from Product and business
  • You need a defined playbook before you move

What Success Looks Like

Your first 90 days goals:

  • Day 30 — You’re versed in Sedric Labs architecture, cross-product dependencies, TAM and Data Ops workflows, and commit flows
  • Day 60 — Your are shipping your first projects and are coaching your team
  • Day 90 — You act as a trusted partner to the Product, CS and Sales teams, you align the team roadmap with our business strategy and act as a true bar raiser among the team.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary + meaningful equity. We’ll be transparent on numbers in the first conversation.
  • Meaningful equity in a high-growth compliance AI company
  • Direct access to leadership — no bureaucracy between you and impact
  • Flexible, output-first culture — we care what you ship, not when you log on
  • Work on problems that matter in an industry that’s ready to change
