Position Overview - Product Designer
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Product Designer to join our team. As a Product Designer, you will play a critical role in designing intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for our B2B SaaS applications in the financial services sector. You will collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to deliver exceptional user experiences that meet the unique needs of our clients in the financial industry.
Responsibilities:
User Experience Design:
- Develop a design system and style guides.
- Define UI/UX patterns and reusable components for engineering efficiency and design cohesiveness.
- Ensure cohesive and scalable design across the product.
- Be the gatekeeper for design consistency of the implemented product.
- Design and iterate on user interfaces to optimise usability, efficiency, and overall user satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the software engineering team to implement and refine UI designs, ensuring technical feasibility and optimal user experience.
User Interface Design:
- Develop user journeys and lead the UI/UX design process for new features.
- Create interactive prototypes and conduct usability testing to validate design decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into user-centred design solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and techniques to continually improve the quality of UI designs.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to gather requirements, provide design insights, and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Communicate design concepts, rationale, and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical team members.
- Work in an agile development environment, participating in design reviews, sprints, and other collaborative activities.
Industry Expertise:
- Possess a deep understanding of the financial services sector, including knowledge of industry-specific UX and design best practices.
- Stay informed about industry regulations, compliance requirements, and security standards relevant to financial services applications.
- Conduct competitor analysis and benchmarking to identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation in our product offerings.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Product /UX / UI designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing B2B SaaS application design work for the financial services sector.
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, InVision, or similar.
- Solid understanding of user-centred design principles, interaction design, information architecture, and visual design.
- Experience working in startups and/or early stage products.
- Experience with responsive design.
- Flexibility and ability to hear and validate feedback to adjust the concepts accordingly.
- Familiarity with front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and their impact on design implementation.
- Ability to translate complex workflows and requirements into intuitive user journeys.
- Proactive communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present and articulate design concepts and decisions effectively.
- Experience with agile development methodologies is a plus.
