Branch is on a mission to make insurance less expensive, so more people can be covered. We innovate using data, tech, and automation to simplify insurance from start to finish—we eliminated inaccurate quotes in favor of real prices, created a better way to bundle, and cut unnecessary costs in the traditional insurance process. Then we pass those savings along to our members. Basically, we’re doing insurance the way it was meant to be.
But we didn’t just create the insurance we’ve always wanted, we also created the company we’ve always wanted to work for. As we redefine insurance, we also want to redefine what it means to work in insurance. Find out for yourself.
Branch has a preference for candidates in Ohio, but is open to candidates located in AL, AZ, CT, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MD, MA, MI, MN, MS. MO, NE, NV, NJ, NC, ND, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, and WI. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.
Branch is remote first, with most Branchers choosing to work from home. Our headquarters are located in Columbus, Ohio, where we come together from time to time to build relationships and connect with each other in real life. Once a year, the entire company gathers for “BranchFest”, a highlight of the year for many Branchers.
About the role
At Branch, we’re building the company we’ve always wanted to work for. As a Senior People Operations Specialist focused on Benefits, Compensation, and HR Systems, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth, compliant, and employee-friendly execution of key people programs. This is a career-level, high-autonomy individual contributor role, and is ideal for someone who brings hands-on expertise, systems curiosity, and a sharp analytical mindset.
You’ll own our benefits operations end-to-end, support the execution of our compensation processes, and be the go-to person for data accuracy and portability across core HR systems. You’ll collaborate closely with People team peers, Finance, Legal, and our external partners to ensure workflows are seamless, data is accurate, and decisions are well-prepared for executive input.
This is a role for someone who enjoys doing the work and seeing their fingerprints on how things run - someone excited to contribute visibly, not just behind the scenes.

In Q3, deliver a recommendation on Branch’s benefits contribution strategy and market approach for annual open enrollment.
Maintain data accuracy and access controls in BambooHR related to benefits eligibility and enrollment.
Compensation Operations
Support execution of salary and semi-annual bonus cycles by preparing models, validating data, and reconciling inputs.
Build and maintain compensation models used in budgeting, calibration, and executive planning.
Maintain compensation-related fields in BambooHR, ensuring accuracy for titles, pay bands, and promotion history.
Administer in-place promotions, stock options and associated communications (e.g., employee letters).
Act as lead preparer and analyst on compensation planning; partner with the CPO on strategy development.
Support the 2026 refresh of Branch’s compensation philosophy, contributing data and implementation support.
HR Systems & Data Integrity

Support preparation of workforce analytics and compensation data for Board materials.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
5+ years of experience in People Operations, Benefits, Total Rewards, or HRIS in a high-growth or fast-paced environment.
Hands-on experience owning benefits administration and collaborating with brokers on plan execution.
Strong spreadsheet and modeling skills; able to independently prepare analyses for decision support.
Experience managing HRIS systems (BambooHR a plus), with a track record of maintaining data integrity.
Process-oriented thinker who takes ownership, spots inefficiencies, and seeks out ways to improve systems.
Clear, consistent and proactive communicator with a desire to be a visible contributor.
Experience contributing to compensation planning, pay philosophy updates, or job architecture work.
Familiarity with HR compliance reporting (ACA, SOC, 5500) and internal data governance practices.

What to expect
In light of recent hiring scams across the United States, here’s what the process will look like with Branch (so you know it’s us):
Please apply to open positions directly through our site. If you don’t see it here, then it shouldn’t exist on another job board. If you’re ever unsure about the legitimacy of a Branch job posting found on another site, please check the listings here to verify.
If you're selected to move onto the next phase of the hiring process, a member of our Branch talent team will reach out to you directly from the email domain @ourbranch.com to guide you through our process.
The process will include a number of interviews, which will all happen either over the phone or on video calls.
We will never ask for personal payment or require you to purchase equipment during our interview process. Always be sure to protect your personal information.
